The meetings industry is not only about real-life events, but also increasingly about online formats such as streaming, Zoom, and webinars. Last year, most online events were related to education, and the medical industry attracted the most participants. These are the conclusions of the “State of online events” report prepared by the ClickMeeting platform.

The largest group of experts who used the Polish ClickMeeting platform last year were trainers, coaches and coaching professionals (31%). Marketers and salespeople came second (24%), followed by business meetings (16%). Teachers and representatives of the medical sector tied for fourth place (12%). For comparison, in 2021, as many as 41% of online events were related to the education industry, 19% to marketing and PR, and 16% to direct sales.
This time, the medical sector stood out in the ranking of industries that used the platform for online meetings and webinars. Looking at the average number of participants per event in each category, coaching and consulting events attracted 1,486 viewers, marketing 2,157, education 2,267, and medicine as many as 4,806. “In 2022, as many as 12% of all events organized through our platform were related to medicine. Seeing the growing activity of this sector in the area of online events, we decided to separate this category in our annual ranking for the first time this year. Interestingly, we have noticed that ClickMeeting is used not only by doctors, therapists, and other specialists who provide advice and see patients online, but also by training companies and industry educational institutions that offer training for both medical professionals and a wider audience interested in these issues. Trainers create the most events on our platform, and educators from the medical industry attract by far the most participants. They also create the longest events, said Dominika Paciorkowska from ClickMeeting.
Looking at the average number of events created by a single organizer, the education category continues to rank first with 517 events. It is followed by medicine with 169 events, then coaching and consulting (125 events) and marketing (114 events).
However, when we look at the length of online events, the coaching and consulting industry ranks first, with users spending an average of 137 minutes. The marketing category came second (136 minutes), followed by medicine (127 minutes) and education (76 minutes).
The “State of online events” report also presents user engagement in individual industries. Education came first with 82 percent engagement, followed by coaching and consulting (68 percent), marketing (56 percent) and medicine (35 percent).
