The Association of Incentive Travel Organizers (SOIT) has announced the results of the SOIT Barometer survey. It includes measurements for 2020-2022 and forecasts for 2023. The SOIT Barometer is an initiative aimed at measuring the Polish incentive travel market and providing information on its trends and forecasts.

The Association of Incentive Travel Organizers has been conducting the Barometer survey among its members on a regular basis since 2014. The measurements for 2017-2022 were carried out by the certified agency ABR SESTA, which also prepared a comprehensive report covering the surveys from previous years. The SOIT Barometer survey aims to provide information on the number of trips, average budgets, number of participants, turnover, and other important indicators related to incentive travel.
Budgets, participants and turnover
According to the latest results of the SOIT Barometer, in 2022 the companies surveyed organized 690 incentive trips, and forecasts for 2023 indicate an increase to 828 trips. The average number of trips completed by the surveyed agencies was 30 in 2022, six fewer than in the record year of 2019. The average number of trips to European countries forecast for 2023 is 36.
In terms of trip budgets, most European trips in 2022 had a budget of between PLN 7,000 and PLN 8,000. In contrast, 44% of trips to European countries were made with a budget of PLN 8,000-12,000. What is more, 31% of non-European trips had budgets of over PLN 14,000.
The average group size for the companies surveyed was 54 people in 2022, an increase of two people compared to 2019. The companies participating in the survey served a total of 38,050 participants in 2022, and forecasts for 2023 indicate an increase to 44,650 people.
The turnover of companies participating in the incentive travel survey amounted to PLN 200 million in 2022 and is estimated to grow in 2023.
The survey also analyzed the tender processes in the incentive travel industry. According to the results, 57% of tenders involve 1-3 companies invited to submit bids, while 35% involve 4-6 companies. What is more, 30% of companies indicate that the average duration of the tender process is more than four weeks.
Finally, the mood of the owners and management staff of the companies surveyed was also taken into account. According to the results for 2023, 43% of those surveyed are optimistic about the future. However, 22% see threats in relation to 2023.
