As part of the annual initiative of the Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourist Organization, in cooperation with municipal and regional convention bureaus, recommended congress and incentive travel organizers, and international organizations and associations, the latest publication, “The Meetings and Events Industry in Poland 2023,” has been released. The report summarises the results of the meetings and events industry for 2022.
It focuses on the results of cooperation with local and regional conference bureaus, recommended congress organisers, as well as international organisations and associations. This study provides an insightful look at the current state of the meetings industry in Poland.
Almost twice as many events as in 2021
Corporate and incentive events remain the most popular types of events in Poland, accounting for 51% of all registered events in the country. Conferences and congresses also play a significant role, representing 42% of all events, while trade fairs and exhibitions account for the remaining 7%.
For the purposes of this year’s report, municipal and regional convention bureaus, as well as the G2A Arena Exhibition and Congress Center of the Podkarpackie Province, provided information on 12,554 meetings and events in 2022, each attended by at least 50 people. Poland recorded a 96% increase in reported data compared to 2021.
“We are pleased to present the fourteenth edition of the report “The Meetings and Events Industry in Poland.” It summarizes the achievements of the meetings industry over the past year. According to forecasts by Oxford Economics experts from 2020, our sector began to recover in 2022 from the losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. We are delighted that, compared to 2021, all cities presented in this report show an average increase of 120% in the number of events. For another year in a row, corporate and incentive events were the most numerous in Poland (51%), while conferences and congresses accounted for 42% and trade fairs and exhibitions for 7%,” said Rafał Szmytke, president of the Polish Tourist Organization.
A consistent image of Poland
The second article was prepared as part of the Vademecum Laboratorium Twórców (Creators’ Laboratory Handbook) and is devoted to the communication activities of the Poland Convention Bureau during this year’s IMEX trade fair in Frankfurt, which proved the importance of proper e-marketing communication in creating and presenting an attractive and consistent image of Poland.
“This is the fourteenth time we have thanked all our municipal and regional partners who have participated in collecting data in their areas. We would like to thank the recommended congress and incentive travel organizers. They provided data compiled in the chapter on the analysis of meetings and events organized by them in 2022. Data collection is not the most exciting of tasks, but I hope that the results of your annual and sometimes several years of work (after all, congresses take years to organise), collected and presented in this study, are a source of pride for you and will serve as a guide for the coming year,” concluded Aneta Książek, Head of the Meetings and Events Office at PCB POT.
