On March 21, 2024, the Polish Congress Ambassadors Gala was held, organized by the Polish Tourist Organization – Poland Convention Bureau, the Association of Conferences and Congresses in Poland, and the Silesia Convention Bureau. The event took place at the Rolling Mill of the Museum of Metallurgy and Zinc in Katowice.

During the Gala, the Ambassadors of Polish Congresses for 2022 and 2023, selected by the Chapter, were honored. The Polish Congress Ambassadors program, implemented in cooperation with the Polish Tourist Organization and the Conference and Congress Association in Poland, aims to promote Poland as an attractive venue for international congresses and conferences.
On behalf of Prof. Justyna Kowalska, MD, PhD, the statuette was received by Izabela Stelmańska, President of the Board of the Mazovia Regional Tourist Organization, and Mateusz Czerwiński, President of the Board of the Warsaw Tourist Organization. A short joint speech was an ideal opportunity to announce a project that will be implemented between the Warsaw Convention Bureau and the Mazovia Convention Bureau: the Warsaw-Mazovia Congress Ambassador Club.
The President of the Polish Tourist Organization, Rafał Szmytke, emphasized the importance of attracting congresses and conferences for the development of the country and Poland’s position on the international arena, highlighting the role of people from the fields of science, culture, and business in this process.
Attracting congresses, conferences and international events is extremely tedious, difficult and often takes many years of work, involving applications and efforts to ensure that a given event is organized in Poland. It is precisely the involvement of people from science, culture and business in attracting congresses, conferences and meetings that is an important element contributing to the significance of this sector in the Polish economy, said Rafał Szmytke.
Paula Fanderowska, president of the Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association, emphasized the importance of cooperation and determination of Congress Ambassadors in attracting events to Poland.
We are meeting here in a very large group. It is said that to attract a congress, you need an orchestra, you need cooperation. Above all, the most important figures and driving forces behind congresses and conferences are the Ambassadors of these events. It is their determination, effort, and commitment that will determine whether our cities and regions will host future events.
