In the dynamically developing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) sector, meeting planners’ professionalism relies not only on knowledge of trends, but above all on deep, practical insight into venue infrastructure. Direct fam trips (study tours) remain one of the most vital tools in event organizers’ work. They allow for the on-site evaluation of logistics, service standards, space layout possibilities, and technical flexibility—going far beyond standard promotional brochures.
Mindful of growing market expectations, the Mazovia Convention Bureau, in cooperation with the Event Industry Association (SBE), organized a two-day site inspection tour across selected venues in the Mazovian Voivodeship. The event brought together leading event agencies, PCOs, corporate planners, and MICE industry representatives from all over Poland. The objective of the trip was to showcase the region’s versatility—from large-scale hotel and conference facilities to intimate historic manors and cultural venues with strong incentive potential.
Day I: Modern spaces, modern history, and manor teambuilding
The first day focused on highlighting the contrast and adaptive capabilities of venues located within close proximity to Warsaw and its eastern suburban belt.
- DoubleTree by Hilton Warsaw – Scale and logistics reliability The site inspection began at DoubleTree by Hilton Warsaw—one of Poland’s largest and most technologically advanced conference and banquet venues. Participants explored the modular layout of over 5,000 m² of event space, including the spectacular Universe Ballroom, which allows flexible partitioning for multi-thousand-attendee congresses, galas, or trade shows. Special attention was paid to its excellent logistical facilities, accommodation capacity (over 350 rooms), and dedicated exhibition zones.
- Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek – A synthesis of modernity and tradition The next stop was the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek. The underground museum complex offers modern conference infrastructure, including an auditorium with outstanding acoustics and AV capabilities tailored for official panel discussions, lectures, and product launches. Combining modern architecture with a historic park and the “Milusin” manor house allows organizers to host high-prestige events that pair educational and historical value with core business content.
- Hotel Pałac Alexandrinum – Palatial elegance for executive retreats From Sulejówek, attendees traveled to Hotel Pałac Alexandrinum. Set within a 12-hectare historic park, this 19th-century venue presented a rich offering tailored for intimate board meetings, executive training sessions, and elegant banquets. Its palace interiors seamlessly blend classic design with modern technical amenities, complemented by an onsite restaurant serving a signature menu based on premium local produce. Participants enjoyed an official networking lunch while discussing the venue’s potential for private corporate events.
- Dwór Mościbrody – Outdoor teambuilding infrastructure and culinary heritage Day one concluded with a visit to Dwór Mościbrody—an estate spanning over 100 hectares, encompassing restored farm buildings, green grounds, and extensive fishponds. The venue was identified as an ideal destination for corporate family days, large-scale outdoor events, and teambuilding activities. A practical program highlight was the “Demystifying the Carp” culinary workshop led by the head chef. Attendees took part in preparing traditional dishes made from locally sourced fish, demonstrating the venue’s potential for teambuilding concepts built around local food heritage.
Day II: Cultural heritage, academic venues, and themed production
The second day highlighted unique venues suitable for custom-themed events, academic conferences, and gala dinners.
- Siedlce conference facilities – Ogiński Palace and Siedlce University The day began in Siedlce with a visit to the representative Ogiński Palace and the academic-cultural facilities of Siedlce University (including the halls of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the University Cultural Center). These spaces are fully equipped to host large academic events, symposia, congresses, and public-corporate meetings. Combining the historic interiors of the Ogiński Palace with the functional university auditoriums creates a highly adaptable base for various event formats.
- Armory Museum at Liw Castle – A unique historical context Next on the itinerary was Liw Castle—one of eastern Mazovia’s most compelling historical landmarks. The medieval fortress, together with its Armory Museum, offers an authentic backdrop for historical outdoor events, scenario-based team games, and gala dinners with a distinctive atmosphere. Its scenic location in the Liwiec River valley grants event organizers ample creative freedom for incentive programs.
- Hotel Muzeum Trylogia – Theme-driven events The lunch break and venue presentation took place at Hotel Muzeum Trylogia in Zielonka. The property stands out for its unique concept rooted in Polish cinema and history. Featuring diverse banquet and conference rooms alongside an extensive museum collection, it is a fit for themed gala evenings, incentive trips, and corporate meetings seeking a distinct local identity.
- Museum of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 in Ossów – A modern take on business education The final stop of the fam trip was the Museum of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 in Ossów. The venue demonstrated its capabilities for hosting anniversary events, historical keynotes, and high-profile industry meetings, establishing itself as an important milestone on the region’s cultural and business tourism map.
Mazovia as a complete ecosystem for the MICE industry
The two-day site inspection organized by the Mazovia Convention Bureau in cooperation with the SBE confirmed that the Mazovian Voivodeship boasts a comprehensive and exceptionally diverse venue portfolio. Looking beyond the capital’s standard infrastructure, the region provides fully self-sufficient facilities for even the most demanding event briefs:
- For conferences and congresses: Ranging from international chain hotels to modern university and museum facilities.
- For corporate meetings and executive retreats: Intimate, restored palaces and manors guaranteeing privacy alongside high service standards.
- For teambuilding and incentive programs: Extensive outdoor domains, rustic estates, castles, and themed venues with rich workshop and recreational offerings.
Mazovia combines excellent accessibility with spatial flexibility and cultural-natural heritage. This provides meeting planners with unlimited opportunities to design event scenarios that effectively drive engagement and build long-term business relationships.
