On June 30, 2025, the Crowne Plaza® Warsaw – The HUB Hotel hosted the first workshop as part of the project “Improving the quality of business tourism management in Mazovia through the participatory development of the Mazovia Convention Bureau Development Strategy,” co-financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

The workshop was attended by key stakeholders in the MICE industry – representatives of the public sector, commercial entities, industry institutions, hotels, conference centers, DMCs, PCOs, event organizers from the Mazovia region, and representatives of the Polish Tourist Organization – Poland Convention Bureau.

At the beginning, Izabela Stelmańska, President of the Board of the Mazovia Regional Tourist Organization, welcomed the participants. In the next part, Iwona Majewska, representing the Mazovia Convention Bureau, presented the achievements in the field of MICE to date, and in the main part of the meeting, the workshops were led by Dr. Krzysztof Celuch and Magdalena Kondas.

The aim of the workshops was to jointly develop the assumptions for the Mazovia Convention Bureau Development Strategy for 2026–2030.

The meeting was of a working and consultative nature. The agenda included, among others:

– assessment of the potential of the Mazovia region in the context of competitiveness in the business tourism market,

– analysis of the activities of the Mazovia Convention Bureau in 2023–2025,

– identification of strategic goals and directions for development for the next 5 years,

– discussion of tools and mechanisms supporting the implementation of the strategy, including cooperation with the industry and a model for financing promotional activities.

Participants actively engaged in the workshop process, sharing their experiences, expectations, and recommendations. The meeting demonstrated the industry’s strong willingness to co-create long-term solutions and the need to build lasting cooperation mechanisms between the Mazovia Convention Bureau and local and national partners.

The conclusions and recommendations developed during the meeting will be a key contribution to the strategic document being created, which is intended to support the professionalization of promotional activities for Mazovia as a MICE destination and increase the region’s share in the domestic and international meetings market.

We would like to thank all participants for their commitment and substantive contributions. The next workshops within this project will take place soon.
