The official website of the Polish Tourist Organization – Poland Convention Bureau – has published an extensive report on the diagnostic and strategic workshop for the MICE industry in Mazovia as part of the project “Improving the quality of business tourism management in Mazovia” co-financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
This would not be unusual, were it not for the fact that the article also focused on presenting the achievements of the Mazovia Convention Bureau in the years 2019-2025, which were discussed during the meeting in a presentation by Iwona Majewska, Deputy Director of the Mazovia Regional Tourist Organization. We see this as recognition of the creation, development, and results of the MCB’s activities during this difficult period for business tourism, both during and after the pandemic. Thank you for the publication.

Below are extensive excerpts from the publication
Activities of the Mazovia Convention Bureau
In her presentation, Iwona Majewska, Deputy Director of the Mazovia Regional Tourist Organization, summarized the activities of the Mazovia convention bureau to date.
Since 2019, the bureau has been formally operating under the name Mazovia Convention Bureau, with the main goal of attracting events to the Mazovia province. As emphasized during the presentation, the activities of the bureau, operating within the structures of the Mazovia Regional Tourist Organization (MROT), are based on two key pillars: complementing Warsaw’s offer and attracting events to other parts of the region.
After the Bureau was launched in 2019, its development was temporarily limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly affected the functioning of the entire industry. It was not until 2023 that it was possible to resume active promotional activities.
The first stage focused on building the image and recognition of the Mazovia Convention Bureau brand in the industry. An important element of these activities was establishing relationships and cooperation with numerous entities operating in the meetings and events market.
A bilingual website was launched, equipped with a search engine for conference facilities. Currently, the database includes 160 facilities and is systematically updated. The “News” tab publishes current information on the activities undertaken.
Promotional materials have also been prepared, including a catalog available in print and digital versions, also in two languages. An update and reprint are planned for this year.
In 2023, funding was obtained from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, which was used to conduct a study on the impact of the meetings industry on the economy of Mazovia. The author of the study was Prof. Krzysztof Celuch. In the same year, the Mazovia Convention Bureau became a partner of the publication “Poland Events Impact”.
The bureau organized and participated in numerous events promoting the region, both domestic and international. It took part in all key trade fairs and industry events, presenting the potential of Mazovia and the offer of its affiliated partners. Familiarization trips and site inspections are also conducted to directly present the region’s advantages in the context of organizing business events.
In 2024, during the MP Power Awards gala, the bureau celebrated its fifth anniversary. On this occasion, a presentation entitled “Five reasons to organize events in Mazovia” was prepared, addressed to organizers of trade fairs and industry events.
The Mazovia Convention Bureau is active at international trade fairs and events, such as IBTM World in Barcelona (PSN POT), IMEX in Frankfurt (PSN POT), Europe Congress, and Conventa. Participation in initiatives such as Meet the Bidder and Fast Date allows for the effective promotion of the region among international decision-makers.
Effective cooperation with the Warsaw Convention Bureau is also continuing, including through joint participation in trade fairs, coordination of promotional activities, and implementation of a joint calendar of events.
The Mazovia Convention Bureau is also a co-founder of Poland’s first city-regional Congress Ambassador Club, established jointly with Warsaw. A relevant agreement has been signed and cooperation has been initiated, which includes the joint organization of events and presence at meetings with Ambassadors.
One of the most important events in recent months was the 2025 Polish Congress Ambassadors Gala, organized in cooperation with the Association of Conferences and Congresses in Poland, the Poland Convention Bureau POT, and the Warsaw Convention Bureau. The gala was held at Matecznik Mazowsze in Karolina, the headquarters of the Mazowsze State Folk Song and Dance Ensemble. The high representation of winners from Warsaw and Mazovia was particularly satisfying. Coverage of the event can be found here: Polish Congress Ambassadors 2025 Gala – a celebration of world leaders in science and business in Mazovia.
The bureau also runs a regional system of recommendations for meeting organizers (PCO), modeled on the Poland Convention Bureau system. Currently, nine entities are affiliated, and this number is constantly growing.
In 2023 and 2024, the Mazovia Convention Bureau received a recommendation from the Poland Convention Bureau POT, which confirms the high quality of its activities.
One of the key communication tools remains the 2023 publication “Mazovia Events Impact,” which clearly presents the importance of the MICE sector for the development of the regional economy.
The Mazovia Convention Bureau is also active in the media, cooperating on a regular basis with the editorial teams of MeetingPlanner.pl and THINK MICE. The strategic partnership at the evening gala promoting the 100th edition of THINK MICE is the best confirmation of this.
