The meetings and events industry is once again turning its attention to Barcelona, as registration has opened for IBTM World 2025, one of the most important international events dedicated to the MICE sector. This year’s edition of the fair will take place on November 18-20 at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via exhibition center and will bring a number of new features aimed at increasing the business value and comfort of participants.

New participation formula for Visitor Buyers

With the needs and expectations of industry professionals in mind, the organizers of IBTM World are introducing a modified participation model for Visitor Buyers this year. Under the new formula, participants in this category will have complete autonomy in planning their own schedule. Thanks to the new appointment scheduling system, it will be possible to book appointments directly with selected exhibitors within the available time slots. This flexibility allows for effective management of time at the fair, focusing on priority contacts and an individual approach to building business relationships.

Additional amenities are also provided for Visitor Buyers. Participants in this category will have access to a special area called The Lounge – a space conducive to quiet work, intimate meetings, and informal networking. Lunches will also be available daily at the IBTM Food Court, providing convenience and the opportunity to network outside the meeting rooms. Participation in this formula requires the purchase of a ticket, which costs €399 when registering by September 16. After this date, the cost increases to €499.

Hosted buyers program – strategic relationships and organizational support

Parallel to open registration, the qualification process for the prestigious hosted buyers program, aimed at key purchasing decision-makers in the MICE sector, is underway. Those qualified for this program can count on comprehensive logistical support and access to a range of privileges that maximize the value of their participation in the event. As part of the hosted buyers program, participants receive a personalized meeting schedule based on a matchmaking system that pairs them with relevant exhibitors based on their profile and purchasing preferences.

In addition, guests covered by this program are guaranteed admission to all days of the fair, access to the full educational program, and invitations to networking events organized both at the fair and in external spaces. Additional benefits include use of the VIP Lounge, lunch vouchers, and subsidies for travel, transfers, and accommodation in selected 4- and 5-star hotels.

IBTM World – a key platform for international business

IBTM World continues to be one of the most significant events in the global MICE industry calendar. Every year, it attracts thousands of professionals representing destinations, convention centers, hotels, DMCs, event agencies, conference organizers, as well as suppliers of modern technologies supporting the meetings sector.
