The modern meetings industry is undergoing a fundamental conceptual transformation. Today, the success of a business event is measured not only by direct economic profit but by its so-called legacy – the lasting, positive impact the event leaves on the city, the region, and within local communities. The third day of the international summit in Szczecin – Impact Day 2026 – was entirely dedicated to this topic, with active participation from the Mazovia Convention Bureau. For the Mazovian MICE industry, the insights from these interactive workshops provide a ready-made blueprint for building long-term competitive advantage.

Three Pillars of MICE Transformation in the Region
During Impact Day, participants were divided into specialized thematic labs to develop concrete, ready-to-implement collaboration models. The key analytical conclusions can be summarized into three strategic areas:
- New Funding Models for Green and Engaged Projects: Traditional budgeting is giving way to partnerships based on shared responsibility. Event organizers in Mazovia should collaborate more closely with public administration, Urban Labs, and local enterprises, creating sponsorship packages aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Youth Engagement and Community Participation: The MICE industry must stop being an insular enclave. Involving younger generations in decision-making processes and designing events to genuinely interact with residents builds destination authenticity. For Mazovia, this is an opportunity to create congresses that activate local academic and startup hubs.
- Technology and Innovation in the Service of Measurability: The key to success lies in the reliable measurement of outcomes (impact assessment). The prestigious Impact Award, which went to Fáilte Ireland / Meet in Ireland during the gala, was awarded precisely for their systemic approach to designing and meticulously measuring the legacy of business events. This is a standard that the entire Mazovian market must strive for.
Mazovia Convention Bureau: Observing, Educating, Implementing
As the Mazovia Convention Bureau, we are not merely passive spectators of global changes – we are active participants. The insights gained from Impact Day allow us to precisely diagnose market needs and guide Mazovian partners on how to build lasting relationships with international associations looking for socially and ecologically engaged destinations.
Business events in Mazovia possess tremendous driving force. Thanks to knowledge and relationships with global leaders (such as GDS-Movement or #MEET4IMPACT), MCB effectively supports local operators in transitioning from traditional event management toward impact management. We show the industry how to combine an attractive, commercially viable conference program with authentic responsibility for the business and social environment of our voivodeship. We are moving forward hand in hand with the best – and together with you, we are setting these trends in Mazovia.
